The existing brick home consisted of 5 bedrooms, 4 living spaces, a formal dining room and freestanding carport structure. We transformed this home into a 4 bedroom home all incorporating their own large ensuite, one living space was converted into a library & integrated sitting / living space. The extension incorporated a large open plan kitchen & dining space that opens to both east, west & south garden spaces with full height steel windows. A full length butler’s pantry was incorporated behind the kitchen with a large letterbox window, double sink, 2 x wall ovens & plenty of storage. All living spaces had a major transformation. To the rear laneway we designed a triple garage with rear lane access and for ease of access a driveway turntable was also provided. The materials of the garage continued the sophistic vertical Colorbond cladding with concealed / integrated garage doors. As a final touch we even designed a matching freestanding woodshed to the rear garden space.
The project involved bold and interesting materials, in particular with the Titanium Granite & Cote D’Azur marble. The design was then further enhanced with textural elements, such as timber battens and double herringbone oak floors. Custom joinery was integrated into the design throughout the entire home.
This project was entered into the Australian Interior Design awards & featured in Belle magazine by interior design firm Austin Design. It was shortlisted for the Australian Interior Design Awards 2020.
